Waking up not remembering what happens is kind of a scary thing. Especially when it’s in your magical tree house and your husband forgets your name. Also a jealous witch kidnapped your child and you have to some how reclaim her while suffering from memory loss. But don’t worry, in The Chosen Child, search for clues and dreams to help you reclaim your child and memory and to end this horrible nightmare.
Like a mystery solving game, this hidden object game has a storyline that you must further by finding items and finishing minigames. Find scattered objects to fix, pick up shards of dreams to build them back together, and open portals to new worlds. While doing all of this, sometimes the witch will try to stall your efforts and mess up some thing you are doing. This is unfortunate but part of the game and leads to more hidden objects or minigames. Better than just straight lists of hidden objects, The Chosen Child is like a book you get to play in.
The problem solving aspect of The Chosen Child is very addictive. A major downfall to the gameplay is getting stuck. Now I’m not the most helpless player most of the time, but when the game won’t allow me to put items into the potion making glass table, I’m somewhat sure there’s a glitch in the game. The fact that it’s not responding to items can be a little frustrating, but the game as a whole was fun up until that part. I would give The Chosen Child a 3.5 out of 5 stars. What’s the point in a game if you can’t finish it?
