Come one, come all to the Hidden Object Show 2, a carnival atmosphere of fun and excitement for all those who have the fortitude to play Mac puzzle games. The park map will show you what’s coming up next and what you will encounter in this captivating amusement park act. The emcee this time is the carnival ringleader and you are there to win prizes and money.
The hidden object game is to find each item listed at the bottom of the screen in the game scene before your time runs out. You also need to be on the lookout for tickets (points for prizes), skip chip (to skip a game), and question marks (hints). In between these plays you go to the mysterious fortuneteller who will predict your next puzzle from his crystal ball. If you have a skip chip you can click on it and drag it to the list of puzzles on the right side, and if you do not wish to play something, put your chip on it. Some of the puzzles are locked until you reach a certain level, but some of the games are spot the difference, silhouette, find 10, letter getter and count down. Other mini games you can play is carnival games like shoot the listed item and leap frog. In leap frog you place your target circle on the moving lily pad to land the frog on it. This one, just like the real game at the amusement parks, is just as tough and difficult to nail the frog on the pads.
Although there are some new carnival types of mini puzzles and a different location for the hidden object play, I didn’t feel the same excitement for this sequel that I felt for the first game. Don’t get me wrong, Hidden Object Show 2 is a good game, but I did not think it was a game show like I did about the first one. The blurry background is also something I didn’t like, but the carnival games are fun and different so go have fun at the park and win some prizes.
