Kid Mystic Review

kid mystic

Battle through the evil land to try and conquer a dark lord and recover the legendary Armageddon sword. It is Kid Mystic’s job to make it through this wacky land in order to regain control of what should be his. This game is marketed as an RPG, but unlike many games in that genre, it plays much more like a Zelda game. You are in complete control of the character, moving around with the arrow keys and attacking and casting spells with the control button and the shift button, respectively. In my opinion, this makes the game more immersing for the player and creates something that fans of many genres can enjoy.

What made this game so interesting was the graphics that the game has. I thought the use of a claymation type of animation looked really good and made for a unique gaming experience. The game is marketed as, “silly and dumb humor” and that is exactly what it is. I would not recommend this game for anyone looking for a mature or serious gaming experience because it is targeted towards children. One problem that I did have was with the game controls. In one stage, I was bombarded my a dozen mushrooms and it was nearly impossible to destroy them while clumsily moving around the board. Other than that, the game was fairly entertaining and I would give it three stars out of five.

Rating: ★★★☆☆
