Larva Mortus is not a game for the easily frightened! Being one of those people, I was scared when I first opened the game to find the haunting images of a cemetery and multiple zombies. But I decided to muster up all my courage and dive right into Larva Mortus. This would prove to be interesting.
The premise of this game is that you are a treasure hunter called upon by a secret society to protect the world from the supernatural beings (i.e. zombies, skeletons, giant spiders). This secret society investigates bizarre occurrences that have been recently plaguing Europe. Now it is your job to set out and discover where and why these beasts are on the loose.
The game is controlled with both the mouse and the directional arrows. The arrows control the movement of your body whereas the mouse controls the aim of the gun. It was kind of hard for me to adjust to these controls, but it is probably just because I was playing on my laptop. The gameplay was surprisingly difficult also, as waves upon waves of the undead followed you around each room. In addition, the zombies threw objects at you, which were often hard to dodge as you tried to shoot them. Aside from the controls, the game had some decent graphics and was definitely very creepy (as the developers promised). I would give this game 3 out of 5 stars.
