Magic Match Adventures Review

Save the village people in Imp World, actually chimps, from an evil force that is creating chaos and havoc. Magic Match Adventures is a fun match game with a cute storyline. You are the only one who can solve all their mishaps by training as a wizard and making right all the wrongs.

In order to help save the villagers you must train by completing levels in a match 3 or more components to collect potions, points and experience. You begin as an adequate apprentice and work yourself up from there. When you collect the matches, red potions appear and when you match the red potions it pours into the magic cauldron. After all the red potions are collected your spell is complete. You are now able to save the townspeople from doom.

Power-ups are wild and matched with some components that can be very powerful. The fireball will thaw out frozen blocks. Crated items will also block your play but can be blasted with matches next to them. The swap and shuffle are helps that you’ll need to progress your adventure further.

This match 3 items or more game is a little different from the swap or slide games. This one is similar to 4 Elements where you chain together like colored components by connecting boxes up and down, side to side and even go back as long as the squares are joined.

The story was a little too cute for my taste, but the play was pleasurable. I’m sure younger kids and some casual gamers would enjoy seeing all the misfortunes befalling the simple villagers and you saving them. It reminded me of the game Animal Crossing. I know a few people who loved that game. Fortunately, it gives you the option to bypass the intro and the continuing story so you can just play the match 3 game. Although the play is easy, it’s still fun to do for a relaxing, if not challenging, time.
