Do we need another shopping mall? If you are a time management sim gamer, you certainly do. Mall-a-Palooza brings you 8 different locations with different types of stores to develop your own mall.
You begin your play by choosing an empty booth, then what type of store. The different shops are clothing, music, electronics, books and toys. You wait until it’s built and then you interview prospective employees. You need to read the blurb to see if the employee is a perfect match for your business. Hiring the right employee will get you a bonus so don’t hire a music buff for your clothing store. After you hire your person, you will start making money. With the money you can upgrade your store to increase your profits or buy another shop. Keep an eye out on the upper left to see how much time you have to complete your tasks. Not meeting your goals in the given time will take you back to retry. At the bottom of the screen you will see stars. The more stars you earn, the higher your profit. You not only have to watch your stores, you must participate in mall events and mall cleanliness. Cleaning your mall will help the mall ratings.
After you earn a bonus round, you can create your own type of mall without the timed feature. This part of the game is fun to do without the added pressure.
Mall-a-Palooza is a fun time management game for casual gamers who are into this kind of genre. The instructions are easy to follow, and even though it has one mode (timed unless you get to bonus round), it is not frustrating to retry a level because you didn’t meet your goals. It’s easy enough to relax and play this game, but may not be much of a challenge for some gamers. Have a good time with this game and make a profit. I give it a 3 out of 5.
