Mean Girls: High School Showdown Review

Mac game Mean Girls: High School Showdown is based on the movie with the same title starring Lindsay Lohan. This RPG/match 3 game starts in North Shore High with a new student, Cady, from Africa. Making friends is not easy to do and Cady is finding this to be true.

Cady is befriended by Janis and Damian who help her assimilate to the new school. They warn her of the popular girls’ click called the Plastics. Janis feels since Cady is new she will be able to infiltrate the group and bring them down. You choose your avatar and your skills. Depending upon what you choose, your personality and strength will match wits with various students in the school where you will gather information as you go along the school hallways. Once you encounter people along the way, you will be challenged to a match 3 or more like items to garner the skills of the icon such as the whip will smack your opponent and the hearts will endear you to your new friend and they will join your group. You can be nice or mean when playing this game.

Stats will show your stamina and strength in addition to your opponents. If your stamina is depleted, you lose the match. You must watch your loyalty gauge because your opponent can win you over to the dark side.

This game is not difficult to play and is a lot like Puzzle Quest, Dangerous High School in Trouble and a little like Spandex Force. If you liked those games, you may enjoy Mean Girls: High School Showdown. Musicaltrack claims the story of the Mean Girls is based on the girls in his former high school. Wow, I’m glad I didn’t go there, but you’ll all agree there are girls in every high school similar to the mean girls. In Mean Girls: High School Showdown you will be able to match wits with these students and possibly take them down or if you were one of them, join forces.

Rating: ★★★☆☆
