Music Catch is a very unique, very simple Mac game. What’s better than listening to music while playing an action game? It can be relaxing or intense depending on the type of music you play.
As I mentioned this game is very easy to pick up. The instructions are short and succinct. You maneuver the beige orb catching shapes for points. The green and blue shapes are a point each and the yellow is a points multiplier. These shapes will increase the size of your sphere depending upon what color shape you grab. Avoid the red shapes at all cost, because they will not only decrease the size of your orb but also your points. The purple shapes are great. They will suck in all the good shapes for a while increasing your score by many folds. If you earn enough points you are awarded medals. You must get it least a silver medal in order to unlock new songs.
The music is good, but if you want, you may download your own songs from any MP3 format. The play changes depending on what type of music you select. The high and low pitches spew out shapes either fast, slow, large or small.
The music that comes with the game is very familiar. Many are from other Mac games you have played. Some of the songs are from The Great Tree, Airport Mania and Build in Time. The doowap song from Build in Time is themed with hardhat, wrench and screw shapes. You start the game with 1 song and completing each level will unlock another .
Music Catch is a pleasurable game to relax with your favorite music or if you are into techno you can get quite a workout. It is not a difficult game but if you get into the high score competition with other’s points, it can get very intense and exciting. It’s what you make it so enjoy yourself in Music Catch and grab those notes.
