Enter the land of magic and mystery in Mystic Emporium. You are a young witch with dreams of one day owning your own potions shop. Well today is your lucky day! An old witch is retiring and you have just stumbled upon the business opportunity of a lifetime. Straighten up you hat and strap on your boots, because you are now ready to start making some serious money.
As you look around the store, you notice three main areas. The first is the cauldron and counter. Customers enter the store (magically!) and you must take their orders. From there you move over to the ingredients area. Depending on the order, you click the recipe, which tells you what ingredients you need. After choosing the correct mixture (you can carry 2 at the max), you take them to the cauldron and begin to brew the potions. After a short wait, the potion is done boiling and is ready to be given to the waiting customer.
The last part of the store is the area for special artifacts. These items have some sort of special value to the customers and if ordered, all you have to do is bring it over. The catch is that you can only stock one at a time and you must wait for a magical octopus to bring in more of these items. As the game progresses, there become more and more items to make and sell, which is where time management becomes a big factor.
I thought this was a pretty cool game, as the music was catchy and the gameplay was fast and fun. Initially the game is kind of monotonous, but as you reach higher levels, you gain more recipes and the game quickly becomes more and more challenging. The best part of the game for me was the match mini-game, which was quick but a good change of pace from the rest of the game. Overall, I would give Mystic Emporium four out of five stars.
