Mac puzzle games can be relaxing like Zen Stones or it can be fast paced and frenzied like Mystic Mine. Both take a lot of thinking, are original in its play and are a lot of fun, but in Mystic Mine you have to make split second decisions whereas Zen Stones will let you take your time. In Mystic Mine make the wrong move and you lose time and possibly the level. It will make you think faster and better or you may go nuts.
Your mine cart comes racing out of the tunnel and you must quickly decide where you want it to go, and in order for the cart to go the right way, you must change the switches at each intersection for it to reach its goals-gold coins or diamonds. Collect the coins as fast as you can to finish the level, but with the diamonds you must take your diamond back to the tunnel each time. Everything is timed and there are goals for each level. Depending on how well you do, the game will decide what difficulty level you will play next. That’s the basic play, but you know there’s always more to it than that.
Sometimes you will be competing with another cart and that cart can steal whatever you have in your bin. Of course, you can, in turn, steal precious minerals from the other cart by bumping it. There are many interesting power-ups to use like balloon (you can move up and down) and ghost (move through everything). The Adventure mode takes you from mine to mine, and the Quick Play is locked in the demo play.
Mystic Mine is a cool Mac puzzle game to play when you have a lot of energy to burn because it’s fast moving, lively with fun music to help you think and react quickly or lose the level. There are over 200 levels to master so remember think fast, switch quickly, you can only go down hill and watch out for the dynamite!
