National Geographic Adventure: The Lost City of Z Review

Nat Geo Adv- Lost City of Z 3

In 1925 Colonel Fawcett set out to uncover the lost city of Z in the Amazon rainforest. He has never been heard from since this historic day when he bravely ventured into the thick, steamy jungles. Since that time many explorers have followed his path to search for this lost city. Today a renown researcher goes missing in the same location and her sister is on the trail to find her. What happened to her sister, and will she uncover the mysterious and lost city of Z?

In this hidden object game, you search through the Amazon looking for clues for her sister and Colonel Fawcett’s trail to the lost city. The scenes are your typical picture of many items spewed throughout the screen. Many items are easy to spot but a few are difficult and you’ll need the hint button to complete your search. Click on the needed item and then click on the hint button to view a picture. If this does not help, hit the hint button again and the radar will zero in on the missing object. When the cursor changes to a magnifying glass, you need to investigate further and you may find more objects in that spot.

During your hidden object search, you will find you need to complete tasks in order to move on. One such job is to take photos of the yellow highlighted animal on the list at the bottom of the screen. Once you locate that animal in the scene, click on the camera in the bag below to take the creature’s photo. Another mini game is one you need to initially collect 10 stones and these stones are a part of an ancient puzzle. The easy logic puzzle can be skipped if you are only interested in the hidden object portion of the game. These pictures can be used as your wallpaper if you choose. All the animals are exotic and colorful. The journal will have interesting data on each animal.

Also some objects you find are placed in the packs for later use. One such item is the knife. It can cut away dense vines so you can get to another area. In addition you have your camera and flashlight there for when you need them.

National Geographic Adventures: Lost City of Z is a good hidden object/seek and find Mac game with an interesting story line. The scenes are well done and clear however some spots are dark and murky making discovering objects difficult even with the hints. If you keep at it, you’ll find the object, but don’t keep clicking or you’ll get the usual warning that clicking randomly is not helpful. Other than these 2 things, this game is enjoyable and fun to do.
