Plan It Green Review

As mayor of Greenville, it is your job to make sure your citizens are kept happy. Happy citizens mean happy voters. These days, in order to pander to what the voter wants, mayors must clean up their run down cities and start going green to make a difference. In Plan It Green, you take on the role of a mayor in a city out of date with the newer, greener technology around. By using city funds and many aids, you can revive your city into a green metropolis that everyone will want to live in.

Plan It Green has the feel of Rollercoaster Tycoon and the time limit of Diner Dash. It’s fun. Taking a broken down part of the city and making it more energy efficient or less wasteful didn’t seem all that exciting, but once you get into the game, it’s tough to leave alone. The upgrades are priced differently and yield different results whish makes you think as to which one is affordable or worth the price. The pointing and clicking is fluid and easy to understand as you go around gradually cleaning up the city and literally making the town/screen greener.

It’s strange how building parks and recycling centers while balancing a budget and building supplies could be so enjoyable. Time limits and limited supplies keep you from wandering around with upgrades and realistically do not allow you to help everyone at once. I truly thought Plan It Green was a good game morally and computer game wise. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars. We could all save the world if we each become a mayor of a town and just go nuts spending taxpayer money on green technology.

Fizzball Review

Fizzball

Professor Fizzwizzle is back! And this time, his crazy robots are working for him. He has decided to use his new invention, the Fizzball, to help animals in trouble. This ball starts out small, but slowly grows in size, as more and more animals are collected. The game has more than 60 animals to save and 180 levels to maneuver through.

One of the first things the game asks is whether you want to set the game to regular or kids mode. I find this very considerate of the creators because they realize that their demographic reaches further than just the teen/adult bracket. Kids can pick up the game and play without becoming too frustrated with some of the harder levels. I thought this was a nice touch.

Additionally, the game provides more than the usual breakout game. There are special power-ups that create new situations for Professor Fizzwizzle. For example, there are floating power-up balloons that you collect during the game that change either the Fizzball or the bumper. These include faster and slower balls, sticky bumpers, and wider bumpers to name just a few.

Although completely different from the original Professor Fizzwizzle game, Fizzball has the same familiar family feel as its predecessor. The graphics and main character are exactly the same and fans of the first game should feel at home with Fizzball. This game reminded me of a classic breakout game, brought to the barnyard. It was surprisingly fun even though I usually shy away from breakout games. The fact that I was drawn in by this so much is a testament to the quality and hard work the creators of this game have done. Although not quite deserving of the elusive “Macgames.info 5 star” (patent pending), this is a wonderful game and I would give Fizzball a four out of five.

Chicken Invader 3 Review

Ok, the chickens are still mad and have bigger plans from Chicken Invaders 2. You beat the daylights out of the fowls and now they are building the Yolk Star to put a stop to your shenanigans once and for all in Chicken Invaders 3.

If you have not played these games before, you are in for a real big treat and if you are a fan, heaven help you. The alien chickens are upset because earthlings have grilled, barbequed and fillet throughout the centuries. To put a stop to your evil ways, the chickens are taking their revenge and attacking you and the entire solar system.

The flying chickens (do chickens fly?) will circle in formation and mesmerize you and your puny spaceship by laying deadly eggs at the same time. Your job is to destroy all the chickens, including the bosses, and save earth, the universe and now the entire solar system from being destroyed. If you ever want to eat chicken burgers again, you better do a good job. Avoid the eggs because that will lose you a life. Don’t get hit by the lasers in the boss levels. Sometimes you’ll get hints on what to do like move away when the giant egg shoots its rays. Also don’t get hit by a meteor or bonus chests because you’ll lose another life. Collect all the drumsticks, roasts, chicken burgers to earn a missile. You can use your missile by clicking right click or the space bar. You’ll see what you have on the lower left side of the screen.

You’ll play several levels and then you get the bonus round where treasure chests of coins float through space at you. Shoot at the chests while avoiding getting hit and collect all the coins. At the end of rounds you play a boss level where a giant robotic spaceship manned by (what else?) a chicken will try to laser you to death. The lasers will come out of 3 places and can bend and twist to aim at you. How does it know where you are? I don’t know but they, the chickens, always knows where you are so be careful and just keep moving.

Yes, this play is very similar to the second one but it is still fun and exciting. The graphics are great, especially when you morph into high speed. I’ll never tire of these games including Galaga (the father of these plays), Kaijin, and Star Defender. Chicken Invaders 3 is a humorous and awesome play. Try it; you’ll like it. I give it a 4 out of 5.
