Peggle Deluxe is a cute, fun action Mac game for the young and young at heart. The graphics are great for both kids and adults, and the action throughout the game keeps you looking at interesting and wacky characters. It makes you feel like you are at the arcade. The colorful rainbow, fireworks, and “Ode to Joy” music will entertain children.
There are four modes of play in Peggle. The Adventure mode shoots targets to get points , Quick Play uses individual levels you have unlocked in Adventure, Duel mode is against a friend or computer, and in the Challenge mode you complete all extra difficult challenges to become Peggle Grand Master. It is a pachinko play in outer space. It has a fever meter and ball-o-tron to keep track of your points and balls in a clever way. All these extras add to the fun and lively play of this game.
I may not have the coordination to shoot while control-clicking to speed up the movements so it was a little frustrating, but I still enjoyed the game. I can see how advantageous it is if you could master this feature. The colors are deep and intense and contribute to the whole feel of the game. It’s a non-violent shooter game which should please any parent and a challenging and pleasurable arcade game for teens and adults.
