Flo knows everyone in Dinertown. Her friend Cassie is worried about her grandparents’ shop, the Diner Town Pets. Megapets is trying to buy them out and take over all the shops in Dinertown. Well, of course, Cassie is not going to let that happen so she agrees to help run the pet shop.
There are 2 modes to this game: Story and Challenge. In Story you must meet daily goals to complete the levels, and in between each level you can buy needed animals and upgrades. When a customer enters, they will have what they want over their head. If someone should enter with a question mark over a pet, they do not care what color animal you give them. When someone comes in with just a question mark, they will take any animal you have. However, if a customer should enter with specific requests, it may take several steps to get their pet ready. You may need to get a cage, fill it with bedding, get the pet and deliver it to the customer. This makes the game more challenging and exciting because you do not want to disappoint your customers and not meet your goals.
In the challenge mode you can choose to play Easy, Medium or Hard. The Easy mode is great to start off and learn the ropes, and it’s kid friendly so they do not get discouraged while playing. However the Hard mode is the most fun with a pet shop full of many varieties of animals, but the play is difficult with many impatient customers coming into the shop. If you click on the doghouse, the dog will come out to calm the waiting people.
Pet Shop Hop is a lively play and is enjoyable. The noise level when hectic may get to be too much with dogs barking, birds squawking, cats meowing and the customers talking, but you can always turn the sound down. I can’t say this game is relaxing but it is challenging and fun.
