Rainbow Web Review

Rainbow Web is a simple match 3 or more orbs on a spider web Mac game.  It begins with a tale about a magical land where everything is perfect until one day an evil, envious spider destroys their kingdom.  He casts a spell over the land and spins a web around the countryside.  A kindly wizard left a small portal to let you in and save the people.  Your job is to match 3 balls on the web and free letters to restore real names of the magic scenery.  Once all the names are back in order the kingdom will be restored to the happy state it was before darkness fell on them.

There are 2 modes to this game.  The Classic (timed) and Relaxed (untimed).  The play is simple.  You only need to click on an orb and swap it with another to form 3 or more like colored orbs across or up and down.  It is only a little difficult because the web expands and makes matches harder to see on the outer edges.  Some of the orbs have letters on them.  These are the scrambled letters you need to retrieve so you can restore the names of the places in the kingdom.  You need only to make matches on the orbs with the letters.

I did not find the relaxed mode challenging enough so I tried to switch it to the Classic, but for some reason I could not change the mode.  I think the timed factor may have been better.  The music is soothing but uninspiring.  I found my mind drifted to other things while playing this game.  Rainbow Web would be a great game for people who want to try a match type play for the first time, and it would be good for children.  I think if you need to unwind and relax, this game is definitely for you, but if you are looking for action and excitement, try another game.
