The Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes Review

sherlock-holmes

The Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes has 16 cases of new mysteries to solve in this hidden object/I Spy Mac game with mini puzzles in the dark, narrow lanes of Victorian London.  Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson will tackle each new mystery one case at a time.

The play is to find all the listed items in a scene to help solve the mysteries. Sherlock Holme’s pipe is in each picture and when found will get you an extra hint. In addition his hat is hidden in each scene to find.

Many of the mini puzzles help solve the cases. One game is putting all the pieces of a gem together to discover someone’s jewelry lost in an earlier case. Arranging the suspects according to the listed descriptions help narrow down your search for the culprit in each crime.

Just the fact that the game is about Sherlock Holmes makes it interesting but sometimes the stories in this play got a little drawn out and the ability to skip the story is appreciated by this reviewer. Also the magnifying glass is a great asset in looking for many of the items because in some the scenes it is difficult to make out the objects without it. As far as the hidden object part of the game is concerned this Mac play was good if you skip the story. The stories actually is the main draw to this game, however and it is too bad it couldn’t have been more interesting.
