A village of people fled their land due to a horrendous lava flow from an active volcano, havoc and chaos ensued. Fortunately, it led these people to a beautiful island, Isola, where the air is clear and the weather balmy, but foraging for food and seeking shelter are difficult.
Your job is to find appropriate people to undertake enormous responsibilities in order for all the villagers to survive. You must set different skills for different people to create a balanced village life. You will need a scientist, builder, farmer and healer. In addition you will need trainees for each of these professions.
At the bottom of the screen it will show you what the people can or cannot do. You need to train them so they will be self-sufficient. The farmer must plant the crops and get water to feed the people. If someone is sick, you will need to drop a healer on the ill person and perhaps the healer will make them well again. It’s worth a try. The builder can repair and build huts to shelter everyone. People can clear the beach of the shipwreck. The children however do not work (it’s the same everywhere). They run around and play. The only essential chore they can handle is to see edible mushrooms and pick them. Adults cannot see them and also they cannot pick up the mushrooms. The children also pick up collectibles.
The population can be increased by chance when a baby washes ashore and will be taken care of by one of the women. Another way is to encourage couples to have a baby. Of course the mothers with babies will not work for 2 years (not realistic some women around the world work almost immediately after giving birth).
This is a traditional sim play where you must train and teach your people to take care of themselves because if you do not, they will die and turn to skeletons. Something you do not want to see. The puzzles are actions done to the island such as clear the well water so the islanders have water, build huts for shelter and grow crops for food.
The good thing about this game is you do not have to be on the computer constantly for the play to continue. The people will take care of themselves as long as you have set and trained everyone well. This play is however very involved and will take up a good afternoon to set up your play so take care of your people and have a good time leading your Virtual Villagers to a happy and prosperous life.
